A New Beginning for Digital Pedagogy
In June of 2013, The Emory Center for Digital Scholarship (ECDS) was formed bringing together four units formerly housed in the Robert W. Woodruff Library: the Digital Scholarship Commons (DiSC), the Electronic Data Center, the Lewis H. Beck Center for Electronic Collections, and the Emory Center for Interactive Teaching (ECIT).
ECDS partners with Emory scholars who wish to incorporate technology into their teaching and research. Within this new center, a team of IT professionals, librarians, and students work to support the way digital technologies and associated methodologies play a role in teaching and research. The goal of blending IT and library cultures is to build on each's strength while recognizing the differences of both in creating a new institutional model for 21st century digital scholarship.
